Good Word of the Day|Past and Present

I sat across from him as he told me all about who he thought I was based on his previous girlfriends. He was very much my type: tall, dark, handsome - not to be cliche. I sat and I ate my cake and smiled politely as he told me that I'm probably a gold-digger who likes to cheat and is not as pretty as I think I am...in prettier language, of course because he didn't want to offend me and this was our first date. When he was finished, I told him it was lovely to make his acquaintance and I ran far far away.

I never want to be that person. Ever.

Makeup|Inspire Me

When I first started doing makeup in 2003, I was super into crazy colors and wild looks every.single.day. Now, I'm more inspired by the pared down - back to basics type of thing. It is so easy to put 10 colors on a person and make them look crazy but harder to make them look simply beautiful and radiant.

 Adele is so symmetrical. Gorge!

Home| Purple Heart

Purple is my favorite color. Lately, I've been thinking a lot about changing how my home looks. It should be a reflection of me and if it is...I'm super dull. Upon looking for some inspiration to spruce my home up, I came across these lovely images of adding some purple to the home. (all images found via google search)

I really like the black and purple with the track lights along the wall. How comfy do you think that bed is though?

Birthday Festivities

My birthday is on February 4th.
While that date is always emblazoned in my mind, when it comes around, I feel as though its kind of anticlimatic since I've only been waiting for it all year. This year, I'm torn between wanting something super simple with 3 or 4 people or wanting a big blowout or just staying home.

New Year. New Life.

Happy New Year Folks!! I have big plans for this year and I want to start out on the right foot. The whole purpose of vision boards is to create a your future by picturing it. Once you picture it, it is a constant reminder of where you want to go, forcing your thoughts and then actions into place.

This is my vision board for 2012.

I want a lot of things that are pretty self-explanatory on there....but a person like me...I would get very overwhelemed looking at all of these things thinking I would have to make them all happen by next month. So, I decided to break them down each month and create a monthly vision board to keep me on track and make sure I can accomplish all of these things.

This is January's vision board. These are things I want to accomplish by February 7th. That gives me a full month to get it together. By February 7th, I should have that month's vb ready and so forth and so on....I'm excited but I don't want to make pretty pictures...I want to make a change in my life!
